Eduard Sala de Vedruna, Research Director, Europe and Global Wind Energy Advisories

Eduard Sala de Vedruna is a Senior Analyst in IHS EER's Europe Wind Energy Advisory Group and delivers competitive strategy and market analysis on key trends and market opportunities to leading developers and utilities in the European wind industry. Prior to joining IHS EER, Eduard worked seven years as a market research analyst and consultant at International Venture Consultants where he developed his energy expertise. He holds a degree in economics from the University of Barcelona. Eduard is based in IHS EER's Barcelona office.

Matthew Kaplan, Associate Director, North America Wind Energy Advisory

Matthew Kaplan is Associate Director of IHS EER's North American Wind Energy Advisory Service.  Matthew has over five years of consulting and research experience in the power sector, with a focus on wind energy markets. In his role, Matthew focuses on the strategies of utilities, developers, and wind turbine manufacturers in North America contributing competitive intelligence and analysis to IHS EER's wind advisory  research service. He has also led or contributed more than a dozen comprehensive market studies analyzing the competitive strategies employed within the onshore, offshore, and supply chain wind markets. Prior to joining IHS EER, Matthew worked on the US' first offshore wind project, Cape Wind. Matthew  holds a degree in History and Political Science from Wheaton College and is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Tim Stephure, Senior Analyst, North America Wind Energy Advisory

Tim Stephure is an Analyst for IHS EER's North America Wind Energy Advisory. His research focuses on industry strategy and market analysis for US and Canadian wind power markets. Prior to joining IHS EER, Tim worked as an international project manager in several international markets including Malta, Cyprus, and Brazil and speaks French, Spanish, and Portuguese. He holds an MS in Sustainable Energy Development and a BA in Marketing from the University of Calgary.

Caitlin Pollock, Senior Analyst, Asia Pacific Wind Energy Advisory

Caitlin Pollock is IHS EER's Asia Pacific Wind Energy Senior Analyst, focusing on wind market developments and business strategies in China, India, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, New Zealand, Pakistan, and the Philippines. Prior to joining IHS EER, she interned for BP China and the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, taught French, and worked on Capitol Hill. She speaks Chinese, French, and intermediate Spanish. Cait received a BA from Hamilton College, an MA from the Monterey Institute of International Studies, and a certificate from the Middlebury College Chinese School.

Marc Muhlenbach, Analyst, Europe Wind Energy Advisory

Marc Mühlenbach is an Analyst in IHS EER's Europe Wind Energy Advisory Group, providing market research and analysis on the European wind energy market environments. Prior to joining IHS EER, Marc worked as a freelancer and translator. He researched a thesis on energy policy and wind energy while working in Texas. He holds an MSc in Global Politics from the London School of Economics as well as an MA in Philosophy from the New School for Social Research and a BA in Literature from the American University of Paris. Marc speaks English, German and French and is based in Barcelona.

Matthew DaPrato, Analyst, North America Wind Energy Advisory

Matt DaPrato is an Analyst with IHS EER's North America Wind Energy Advisory Service. Matt conducts research and strategic analysis of wind energy technologies, market dynamics, and competitive positioning. He recently co-authored an in-depth market study, US Wind Power Markets and Strategies: 2011-2025, which analyzed the current market dynamics driving wind energy development, evaluated the strategies of project developers, utilities, turbine manufacturers, and policy makers in analyzing the industry's long-term growth outlook. Matt holds degrees in History and Political Science from Boston College, where he focused on public policy development in the United States, and international political relations. He is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.

Magnus Dale, Analyst, Europe Wind Energy Advisory

Magnus Dale is an analyst within IHS Emerging Energy Research providing research on Europe's wind energy market environment and industry strategies, working in qualitative and quantitative analysis prior to joining IHS. He holds an advanced degree in French and European History from Université Paul-Valéry, Montpellier, France, a BSc in Mathematics and Informatics from the University of Tromso, Norway and an MSc in Statistics from London Metropolitan University, UK. Magnus speaks Norwegian, English and French and is based in Barcelona.

Andy Lubershane, Analyst, North America Wind Energy Advisory

Andy began his career in the energy field performing market research for an early-stage carbon emissions modeling software company.  This role led him to a master's program at the University of Michigan, where he focused his studies on renewable energy, life cycle assessment, and applied economics.  While at Michigan, he designed an innovative program for financing energy efficiency and renewable energy in local government facilities, and partnered with the non-profit Clean Energy Coalition to implement the program in eight cities.  He joined IHS in 2012 with a Joint MS / MAE in Sustainable Systems and Applied Economics from University of Michigan and a BA from Wesleyan.

Keith Hays, Research Director, Europe Solar Power Advisory

Keith Hays is a founding partner of IHS EER and heads the firm's EMEA/APAC market insight and consulting services dedicated to clean power technologies. Since joining IHS EER in 2003, he has provided strategic analysis and recommendations to leading power producers, project developers, equipment suppliers, financial institutions, and policymakers in the energy industry with a focus on competitive strategy in renewable energy. Mr. Hays has led his team of research colleagues to produce over 40 comprehensive regional and global studies on clean and renewable energy markets, offering 10 regional and technology-specific insight services covering all utility-scale clean power technologies. Prior to joining IHS EER, Mr. Hays developed market strategies as a management consultant at DiamondCluster Consulting (now Oliver Wyman), and carried out European research for Pyramid Research, a telecommunications research and advisory company. Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, Mr. Hays received his MBA from IESE Business School and his BA from Columbia University.

Thomas Maslin, Associate Director, North America Solar Power Advisory

Thomas Maslin is a Senior Analyst for IHS EER's North America Solar Power Advisory. Focusing on the competitive strategies of utilities, developers, and IPP's in the North America solar sector, he also provides extensive research in the North America biomass industry. Prior to joining IHS EER, Thomas worked at an environmental economics consultancy focused on risk assessment and integrated environmental economic analysis. He received his BA from Bucknell University and his Master's from Duke University with a concentration in energy economics and policy.

Josefin Berg, Analyst, Europe Solar Power Advisory

Josefin Berg is an analyst in IHS EER's Solar Advisory Group, where she performs market research and analysis of trends and competitive strategies across the European PV value chain. Prior to joining IHS EER, Josefin was an R&D strategy consultant at Bax & Willems, mainly in the field of cleantech and renewable energies. She holds an MS in Environmental Engineering from Uppsala University, Sweden. She speaks English, French, Spanish and Swedish and is based in Barcelona.

Wade Shafer, Analyst, North America Solar Power Advisory

Wade is an Analyst with IHS EER's North America Solar Power Advisory Service. He focuses his research on the North American downstream PV industry and policy environment. Wade began working in the solar industry while in college, when he interned with a start-up solar developer and analyzed US markets and locations for mega-PV projects. Prior to joining IHS, Wade worked in the Technology and Communications Practice Group at Patton Boggs LLP, a law firm based in Washington, DC, as a paralegal. There he assisted attorneys with regulatory compliance and high-profile cases at the Federal Communications Commission. Wade holds a BS in Economics from The George Washington University.

Alex Klein, Research Director, Clean and Renewable Power Generation Advisory

Alex Klein manages IHS EER's North America Renewable Power Generation Advisory Service, which focuses on analyzing trends across the renewables sector.  Alex has managed and authored several in-depth market studies on European and North America Renewable Policies, Geothermal, Wind, Ocean Energy, IGCC, Carbon Capture and Storage, and US Transmission. He has 10 years of consulting and research experience in the energy sector, with a focus on renewable market and technology analysis. Prior to joining IHS EER, Alex was a senior analyst at Juniper Consultancy Services in the UK, where he conducted a range of market studies, independent assessments and critical appraisals of regulatory and technology trends related to clean and renewable energy. Alex holds an MS in Engineering from Columbia University and a BS from the University of Vermont. His work focused on carbon management, carbon storage, novel renewable technologies and carbon capture technologies. He is based in Cambridge, Massachusetts US.   

Marianne Boust, Associate Director, Europe Renewable Power Generation Advisory

Marianne Boust is a senior Analyst in IHS EER's Renewable Power Generation Advisory Group. She focuses mainly on utilities' strategies in a carbon-constrained environment and provides expertise related to global carbon policies and ocean energy market development. Prior to joining IHS EER, Marianne worked for French oil and gas company Total as a financial analyst in Paris and then as an economist in Bangkok, Thailand. She has a MBA from ESSEC Business School, Paris.

James Saeger, Associate Director, North America Renewable Power Advisory

James Saeger, Associate Director for IHS Emerging Energy Research's North American Renewable Power Advisory, leads IHS EER's research on North American renewables supply/demand, pricing, and policies. Additional areas of expertise include high voltage transmission planning and development as well as renewables costs and financing. Prior to joining IHS EER, Dr. Saeger was in equity research focusing on the Energy and Financial sectors at Ameriprise Financial's RiverSource Investments. Before moving into financial research and analysis, Dr. Saeger held teaching positions at Vassar College, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Saeger earned an AB from Dartmouth College and an MA and PhD from the University of Pennsylvania.

Nate Gagnon, Senior Analyst, Mergers & Acquisitions

Nate Gagnon is a senior analyst at IHS EER responsible for maintaining the company's M&A database and for providing insight and analysis into transactions and trends across the renewable energy industry.  Prior to joining IHS EER, Nate worked in a similar capacity at IHS Herold.  He holds an MS in Environmental Science and a BS in Biology from the SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry.
