Australia Sets Long-Term Renewables Course

October 15, 2009

Australia's passage of its National Renewable Energy Target (RET) bill signals growing urgency to tap renewables as a key source for new power generation, while addressing its carbon footprint ahead of international climate negotiations. The law is expected to provide a boost to the Australian onshore wind market, which has potential to see average annual year-over-year growth of 17% over the next decade.
