Philippines Reform Pushes Forward with New Projects, Draft FIT, and Renewed Commitment

April 28, 2010

Between 18 January 2010 and 19 February 2010, the Philippines Department of Energy (DOE) announced 112 wind, geothermal, biomass, and hydro projects. Released through the DOE's Renewable Energy Management Bureau, these Renewable Energy Service Contracts follow two other signings in September and October 2009, for a total 198 projects and new renewable capacity of more than 4.7 GW, as part of the country's effort to double renewable energy capacity to 9.0 GW in the next 10 years.
