On 11 May 2010, the Australian government's Department of Resource, Energy, and Tourism (DRET) made two funding announcements supporting CSP development and technology build-out. DRET shortlisted four CSP project developers for Phase One of the Solar Flagship (SF) program. The AU$1.5 billion SF program was launched in December 2009 to facilitate the build out of CSP and solar PV. The program is structured to support 1 GW of solar through two selection phases through 2014. Final selection of Round One projects is anticipated by the first half of 2011.
