On 8 January 2010, Pasadena, California, US-based eSolar, Inc. signed a technology licensing agreement with China Shandong Penglai Electric Power Equipment Manufacturing Co. (Penglai). eSolar will supply its concentrated solar power (CSP) technology and guidance for development of a combined 2 GW through 2020. Penglai plans to connect the eSolar solar fields with biomass facilities. The initial 92 MW plant is slated to be installed by the end of 2010, and located in the Yulin Energy Park in northern China.
