Enbridge Swoops in to Unlock Montana Wind

On 16 August 2011 Canadian midstream energy player Enbridge Inc. announced an agreement to acquire Toronto-based independent transmission developer Tonbridge Power for US$20 million plus an additional US$50 million in company debt. Tonbridge's primary asset is the 214 mile 230 kV Montana-Alberta Tie Line (MATL), which began construction in August 2010. Key trends in this On Point include:
