Hyundai Launches China Wind Play

January 27, 2010

On 15 December 2009, South Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) announced late-stage negotiations of a wind turbine supply deal with China Huaneng Group, the country's largest electricity generator. The vendor is slated to commission its first China-based wind turbine assembly facility by October 2010, after which the new contract calls for delivery of up to 300 units of its 1.65 MW to 2 MW product platforms.
