Throughout the second and third quarters of 2010, the Romanian wind power market has shown signs of advancement, with project activity and financial and legislative developments suggesting the market continues to mature and is now ready to deliver. In July, the Romanian government announced an amendment to its renewable energy law that favors developers, stabilizing the policy landscape. Public funding is also on the rise, as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) announced it was considering a loan to Energias de Portugal Renováveis (EDPR), and the European Investment Bank (EIB) agreed to fund grid upgrades.
