March 22, 2012

On 13 February 2012, Wisconsin Public Service Corp. (WPS) announced a multi-year agreement with enXco Service Corp. (enXco) to continue operating and maintaining the company's 99 MW Crane Creek wind project in Iowa. As part of the agreement, enXco will provide complete onsite O&M services and remote monitoring and fault resets from its operations control center. Key trends in this On Point include:

  • Utility owners use third parties to balance cost and control in O&M strategies.
  • enXco leverages development arm, asset fleet to capture utility wind O&M opportunity.
  • Diverse O&M strategies create opportunity for ISPs targeting utilities.
