On 19 October 2011, the US subsidiary of Indian wind turbine manufacturer Suzlon Energy opened a training center for wind technicians managing its North American operations. In September, Gamesa announced that it will install its new maintenance product, Gamesa Premium Availability (GPA), in several of its projects under management in Spain and France. Three months earlier, Vestas signed a 114 MW order in Spain for its AOM 5000 (Active Output Management) service package, which the company launched in March. These announcements underscore the increasing importance of O&M services in turbine manufacturers' strategies.
