Analyst, European Solar Energy Markets

EER has an immediate opening for someone that can contribute to our ongoing research and analysis of solar energy markets in Europe.

Responsibilities:

As European Solar Energy Markets Analyst you will contribute to our ongoing research of solar energy markets and company strategies in Europe. Responsibilities will include the gathering and analyzing intelligence on industry developments, competitive positioning along the value chain, industry structure, and regulatory initiatives. The technology focus will be on -- Concentrating Solar Power (CSP), Concentrating Photovoltaics (CPV) and Photovoltaics (PV).

The position will be located in Cambridge, MA or Barcelona Spain. If originally placed in Cambridge, MA and circumstances permit, the position is intended to ultimately transition to the Barcelona office and will require limited travel.

Your specific responsibilities will include the following:

  • Maintaining installed database and project pipeline databases
  • Forecasting European solar market development and economics
  • Initiating and writing Executive Briefings (On Points) and Market Briefs
  • Contributing and eventually leading in-depth market studies
  • Interacting with clients on a continuous basis to provide market research, competitive analysis, and strategy support.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must have a minimum of three years experience in an analytical role in the energy industry, with a track record of steady and consistent professional growth. Some renewable energy industry experience or knowledge of alternative energy technologies and players is preferred.

The position requires solid analytical and quantitative skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and experience with telephone and internet-based research. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to work in a fast-paced project-oriented environment, to work independently, and to deliver projects on time.

Candidates will be considered based on the following:

  • Strong writing skills and demonstrated ability to write economically and quickly
  • Ability to write and converse using fluent "business" English; other European languages are preferred
  • Database and spreadsheet management experience
  • Solid market and business analytical skills
  • Proven experience using PowerPoint for presentation purposes
  • Industry experience: energy, power, finance, industrial sectors; 1-2 years experience in research and analysis of the solar energy or sector is a plus
  • Proficiency with standard software applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
  • Background in consulting, journalism or research a plus
  • Undergraduate degree: BA or BS; Graduate degree is a plus
  • European work permits are a plus

Responsibilities:

As Analyst you will contribute to our ongoing research of market, technology, and competitive trends in the global power industry. Responsibilities will include the gathering and analyzing intelligence on industry developments, competitive positioning along the value chain, industry structure, and regulatory initiatives. The technology focus will be on the shift toward clean power generation, transmission and distribution trends, smart-grid and storage solutions.

You will be expected to develop and maintain a strong level of understanding of the regulatory, technology and competitive dynamics of the power industry, and to ensure a steady stream of analytical deliverables to our advisory clients, including short executive briefings, occasional white papers, forecasting models, in-depth market studies, project databases, and specific client-directed requests.

Research Director, North America Wind Energy Practice

Responsibilities:

As Research Director, you will direct EER's wind energy advisory practice, which provides a syndicated stream of research deliverables to a broad range of clients in the energy industry, including utilities, manufacturers, wind project developers, and financial institutions. You will be responsible for managing a small team of analysts covering the North American wind power industry, and for meeting corporate objectives for all group output. You will direct new initiatives in research direction and client service. You will have full responsibility for managing relationships with advisory clients in collaboration with sales account managers. You will be expected to:

  • Ensure steady level of output of advisory stream deliverables including written deliverables, forecasting models, and one-on-one Q&A

Regional Sales Manager - North America

EER is seeking a proven Regional Sales Manager to play a major role in growing EER's Advisory Service business in North America. You must excel in a fast growing environment and understand the need for constant adaptation to fuel this growth. As a team player you will work closely with the Sales Support Manager, Marketing and analyst teams. You know that cold-calling fuels your forecast and is the starting point towards high level meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sales strategy to grow territory
  • Meet and exceed revenue and other sales targets
  • Generate new business
  • Maintain and grow renewal business
  • Build long-term relationships with clients
  • Develop a thorough understanding of EER's value proposition and range of services
  • Attend industry trade shows and promote EER through client-level meetings
  • Travel required approximately 50% of time

Qualifications

  • 3 – 5 years proven consultative sales experience, preferably selling to large organizations
  • Proven experience achieving revenue goals
  • Excellent interpersonal and team playing skills

  • Ability to 'work the phones' and handle face-to-face client visits at decision making level

Sales Support Manager - North America

EER is seeking an assertive Sales Support Manager to contact prospects and clients to increase EER's Market Study sales and work closely with the Regional Sales Managers to identify opportunities and qualify leads for Advisory sales. In this position you work in a fast paced environment and strong organizational skills, eye for detail, team play and a desire to succeed are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Meet quarterly sales targets through active sales of EER market studies via phone/email
  • Develop leads from trade shows/conferences/internet a.o. to grow existing prospect database
  • Qualify and target prospects for new Advisory sales in cooperation with Regional Sales Manager
  • Assist Regional Sales Manager in actively supporting needs of existing Advisory clients
  • Provide input to marketing and research teams based on feedback from clients/prospects

Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of proven sales experience
