Analyst, North American Wind Energy Markets

EER’s wind energy practice is well established and continues to grow rapidly. To meet the strategy and information needs of our growing client base, we are looking for an experienced, driven professional to join our successful entrepreneurial team.

Responsibilities:

As an Analyst in EER’s Wind Energy Advisory division, you will play a major role in EER’s wind energy advisory practice with responsibilities for leading research and analysis of wind industry trends and prospects; and for establishing, maintaining and enhancing relationships with advisory clients, including executives in utilities, IPPs, wind project development companies, and financial and technology companies.

As an Analyst, you will be expected to develop and maintain a strong level of understanding of the regulatory, technology and competitive dynamics of the wind industry, and to ensure a steady stream of analytical deliverables to our advisory clients, including short executive briefings, occasional white papers, forecasting models, market studies, and specific client projects.

Additional responsibilities include supporting EER’s Sales and Marketing department with client and prospect meetings, as well as maintaining an industry profile through speaking opportunities and participation in industry forums.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years experience in an analytical role in the energy industry, with a track record of steady and consistent professional growth.
  • Some experience or knowledge in the wind energy industry is preferred but not required.
  • Solid analytical and quantitative skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and experience with telephone and internet-based research.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced project-oriented environment, to work independently, and to deliver projects on time.
  • As part of EER’s Global Wind Energy Advisory group, the Analyst must be able to work in a team environment, and to lead or contribute to collaborative projects.
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field is required; MBA or Masters preferred.
  • Proficiency required in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


Analyst, European Wind Energy Markets

To reinforce our European Wind team, we are looking for a person to contribute to our ongoing research of wind energy markets and company strategies. This person, based out of EER's Barcelona office, will be responsible for gathering and analyzing market and competitive intelligence on new projects, long-term generation plans, green power programs, regulatory initiatives, and industry structure in a wide range of renewable technologies with a primary focus on wind energy.

Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include: maintaining market forecast and project pipeline databases; initiating and writing Executive Briefings and Strategy Papers; contributing and eventually leading in-depth market studies; collaborating to serve industry-leading clients on a continuous basis to provide market research, competitive analysis, and strategy support.

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical writing and conversation skills using impeccable Business English; strong market and business analytical skills;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • The candidate must be willing to handle multiple data gathering challenges to build our primary-research market intelligence capabilities, and show versatile problem solving skills in contributing to strategy analysis.
  • Excellent oral and written English communications skills
  • Energy and versatility to fuel market intelligence gathering
  • Understanding of business models and ability to think strategically
  • Familiarity with forecasting and/or financial models

Analyst, Global Solar Energy Markets
EER has an immediate opening for someone that can contribute to our ongoing research and analysis of solar energy markets globally. The position will be based in Cambridge, Massachusetts and will involve limited travel.

Responsibilities:

As Solar Energy Analyst you will play a major role in EER's Clean and Renewable Energy advisory practice with responsibilities for gathering and analyzing market and competitive intelligence on new projects, long-term utility generation plans, green power programs, regulatory initiatives, and industry structure in the US and globally. The research scope will encompass largely solar PV and concentrating solar thermal markets and companies, although occasionally other renewable energy topics will need to be covered.

As Analyst you will be expected to develop and maintain a strong level of understanding of the regulatory, technology and competitive dynamics of the renewable power industry, and to ensure a steady stream of analytical deliverables to our advisory clients, including short executive briefings, occasional white papers, forecasting models, in-depth market studies, project databases, and specific client-directed requests.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years experience in an analytical role in the energy industry, with a track record of steady and consistent professional growth.
  • Some renewable energy industry experience or knowledge of alternative energy technologies and players is preferred.
  • Solid analytical and quantitative skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and experience with telephone and internet-based research.

Analyst, Carbon Policy
EER has an immediate opening for someone that can contribute to our ongoing research and analysis of carbon markets and policies globally. The position will be based in either Cambridge, Massachusetts or Barcelona, Spain and will involve limited travel.

Responsibilities:

EER's Carbon Policy Analyst will contribute to our ongoing research of climate change policies and their impact on strategic decision making in the energy and power sectors on a worldwide basis. The analyst will be responsible for gathering and analyzing competitive intelligence on domestic and international regulatory and policy trends, identifying and quantifying business opportunities resulting from policy changes, and tracking shifting utility and IPP power generation strategies.

As Analyst you will be expected to develop and maintain a strong level of understanding of the regulatory, technology and competitive dynamics of the clean energy industry, and to ensure a steady stream of analytical deliverables to our advisory clients, including short executive briefings, occasional white papers, forecasting models, in-depth market studies, project databases, and specific client-directed requests.

EER has an immediate opening for someone that can contribute to our ongoing research and analysis of clean energy markets globally. The position will be based in either Cambridge, Massachusetts or Barcelona, Spain and will involve limited travel.

Responsibilities:

EER's Clean Energy Analyst will contribute to our ongoing global research of clean energy technologies and company strategies. The analyst will be responsible for gathering and analyzing market and competitive intelligence on new projects, long-term generation plans, project economics, carbon policies and regulatory initiatives, and industry structure in a wide range of emerging energy technologies with a primary focus on nuclear, IGCC, carbon capture and sequestration, and other related clean generation technologies.

As Analyst you will be expected to develop and maintain a strong level of understanding of the regulatory, technology and competitive dynamics of the clean energy industry, and to ensure a steady stream of analytical deliverables to our advisory clients, including short executive briefings, occasional white papers, forecasting models, in-depth market studies, project databases, and specific client-directed requests.
