Iberdrola Sets Ocean Energy Course for Scotland
Iberdrola recently waded deeper into the emerging marine energy sector with its announcement to develop Europe’s largest tidal stream project in the UK through its subsidiary ScottishPower Renewables. With technology supplied by Hammerfest Strøm UK, Iberdrola’s tidal stream initiative marks an important entry into the Scottish market, where new marine energy incentives are available. Iberdrola also achieved a major milestone by successfully grid connecting its Santoña, Spain wave power project. With marine energy technology slowly maturing and reaching advanced stages of testing, Iberdrola is making its presence felt early as the industry gains momentum.
